What is Twitassist.me?
Twitassist.me makes it easy to raise money for causes and create fundraising campaigns using Twitter.
Do I need to have a Twitter account to use it?
Yep.
How do I send money?
TwitAssist uses Twitpay's Personal Payments to send money via Twitter, so people can see who is funding campaigns and learn how they can help. You can register with Twitpay after you've already made a contribution. (You'll need a Twitter account and a PayPal account to complete your contributions on Twitpay's site. Contact support@twitpay.me for payment questions.)
How do I get people that have promised money for my cause to pay up?
After they've made a promise, they will get instructions for completing their payment from Twitpay. If time has passed and they still havn't paid you, you could try DMing them, confronting them about it within ear-shot of their mother (who will insist they pay you), or writing a snarky blog entry about what a flake they are.
Are promises legally binding?
No. Twitassist.me makes it easy for your followers to help you out in a completely voluntary format. However, if you promise to give someone money and never actually give it to them, they may embarass you in front of your mom or write a snarky blog post about you.
Does Twitassist.me verify the authenticity of causes?
Nope. Twitassist.me allows you to ask your Twitter followers for money and track promises and payments. All campaigns are user-generated, 3rd party content and we have take no responsibility for their cause or how they handle the money they raise for it. Always research before you give. For more information, read our terms.
Can I raise money for anything I want? Tattoos? Gas money? Speeding tickets?
Of course!
